LORI TERRIZZI
Ex-Officio Board Member

Lori Terrizzi was appointed Executive Director of Cities of Refuge North America on July 1st, 2007, and remains with the organization as an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors. She obtained an MFA in film from Columbia University's School of the Arts, where she was awarded a fellowship for study, and has received awards for work in independent film and commercial television. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Rutgers College, where she majored in art history and received a scholarship for the study of art and music, her pivotal experiences include working at The Art Commission of the City of New York, The Guggenheim Museum, and a sculpture apprenticeship in Italy, where she has periodically lived and studied over the years. The granddaughter of Armenian and Italian immigrants who imparted a love and tradition of storytelling, she was ultimately led into filmmaking by the desire to tell a story.

She is founder, president and executive director of ReInventions, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting film as an art form, giving volume to cinematic voices that often go unheard, and presenting stories of individual and collective transformations worldwide.

Born and raised in Amherst, Massachusetts, she now lives in New York City.
